Hey Fabulous Nolose Community,
You likely know that Nolose is an organization entirely by and for the queer fat activist community. Nolose is 100% grassroots funded and is led by a board of directors composed of volunteers.
Curious what we’re all about and want to dive deeper? We are hosting an informal online workshop on:
Sunday, March 3
3:00 p.m. PST, 4:00 MST, 5:00 CST, 6:00 EST
We’ll be using Zoom. Email [email protected] for the meeting link.
We want to give folks a chance to hear from Nolose Board members and ask all the questions about Board service, volunteering, or anything else! As an all-volunteer organization, accountability and transparency with the community are important for the Nolose Board. One of the ways we are putting this into motion is by holding a Board Recruitment and Volunteering Workshop.
In this workshop, current Nolose board members, Sally, Shana and Sarah will be discussing the current Nolose Board recruitment goals and process as well as a first-hand, no-holds-barred account of what it’s like to be a member of the Nolose Board. (Hint: Being on the Nolose Board is a great experience, and can be more rewarding and more accessible than you think!)
Maybe serving on a nonprofit board isn’t your cup of tea? Try volunteering! Community members can volunteer in a variety of capacities, including with the SPAL grants committee, fundraising committee, transmisogyny working group, and conference planning working group or volunteering to help with social media and volunteer coordination. We will also discuss the future vision and role of Nolose board and volunteer projects.
