[Nolose-announce] NOLOSE is (almost) here!

*NOLOSE 2008* is less than 5 days away! Have you taken a look at the 
Program <http://nolose.org/08/program.php>? If you haven't registered 
yet, now's the time <http://nolose.org/08/>!

Below are a few details to help our attendees prepare:

1) _Northampton locals:_ Want to do a good deed? Can you offer rides to 
people to/from the Bradley airport Friday and/or Sunday in exchange for 
gas money? Please drop jodi at nolose.org a note and let her know if you 
can make one or more trip and when. This will help keep at least a few 
out-of-towners' expenses down. Thanks!

2) _What to bring to NOLOSE:_

    * heart, wits, willingness to meet new people, and sense of adventure
    * writing materials
    * warm clothes for getting to/from our private, tented pool outdoors
      at night
    * spending cash (if you've got it) for unique shopping opportunities
      (see below); there will also be a cash bar available at the hotel
    * if you'd like: bathing suit (we have private use of the tented,
      outdoor pool for the entire conference, and clothing is optional);
      tennis courts are also available, if you want to bring rackets
    * clothes: whatever suits you! From casual and comfortable to dressy
      eve. clothes, people's fashions run the gamut. Bring clothes for
      as many or few moods as you like. There will also be a clothing
      swap in the hospitality room, so if you'd like, bring some clean
      clothing donations (maximum: one small bag) and help yourself!
    * unscented products: please remember that this is a low scent
      <http://nolose.org/08/access.php#scent> conference, and we are
      asking that you use unscented products whenever possible to make
      this conference more accessible to people with scent allergies

3) _Hotel_
Please make sure to call and confirm your room 
reservations/specifications with the Clarion 
<http://www.clarionhotel.com/hotel-northampton-massachusetts-MA117?amp;promo=gglocal>. 
Limited mini-fridges are available for $10/night (and some rooms have 
them), so please make sure to request these with the hotel.

If you have any other questions (unrelated to private room arrangements) 
about common areas/facilities, please don't hesitate to ask Cristy 
(cristy at nolose.org). She is our diligent liaison with the hotel staff.

4) _Transportation_

5) _Unique Shopping_
This year, we'll have  Re/Dress <http://www.redressnyc.com/> and Cupcake

and wares, as well as Happy Fish, Smiling Star

Also, we have a silent auction with some fabulous wares and services. So 
plan to bring something extra (checks welcome) if you've got it and want 
to shop. Silent auction items will be available from Saturday morning 
through Sunday brunch.

Additional donated goods and services are welcome! Please bring them to 
the registration table when checking in, and we'll make sure they make 
it in.
