[Nolose-finance] Fw: Draft of Contract

Hi guys,

I got a contract draft from Shanti on Friday.  There are a bunch of things I am not happy about.  I will list the main ones below and would like to hear of anything else you notice.

1) The prices on the first page are wrong but they are correct on the second page where she actually talks about cost.

2) We need to know: commuter rates, and about extra nights if people want to stay.  I also have to talk to her about the board meeting though she had quoted $100 per person with meals previously.

3) Their meal times are early for us and changing them may be a problem (they may want to charge).

4) We want to end much later on Sunday.

5) The contract says we cant do any camping until all other rooms are filled.  And, therefore, our minimum cost is based on the most expensive rooms.

6) Section 4 B) states that meals will be prepared according to standard portion per person.  Should food costs exceed normal portions or should we request increased portions they will charge us.  This pisses me off and makes me nervous

7) The dining room is not big enough for us.  So I discussed staggered meals or doing meals in the conference center. The charge to do it in the center is very high.  But I am angry that they want to charge us for staggered meals since the only reason we would do that is because they dont have enough space (and it reallly isnt enough space for any 100 people not just us).

8) number 7 part d talks about them getting 10% of any sales.  Does this include our merchandise?  Did we want to do vendors.  I am not happy about this.

9) I am concerned about the shoes issues, but she is already aware of it (section 8 part b).  We will need to work on this.

10) Indemnification.  They say they are not responsible for injuries occured or articles lost and all guests will sign a paper indemnifying them upon registration. This makes me very nervous as we dont have insurance.  Comments?

Ok, I know you may not all want to read this with a fine tooth comb, but I need at least 1-2 others to do it so I am not the only one.  And, please let me know if you find other issues and what you think about these.
