Here is the suggestion from a disability group, but I think we were already considering this one.
>Off the top of my head, try the Asilomar retreat grounds in Pacifica,
>http://www.visitasilomar.com/default.aspx, which is a little over 2
>hours drive south from Berkeley (shuttles will go there from SJO and
SFO
>I think). I was just there from this last Mon-Wed for work with a
small
>group of 20 or so that included two quadriplegics; my impression is
that
>they can take much larger groups as well. A lot of the grounds and
main
>buildings seemed to be physically accessible, though I was never
inside
>one of the accessible rooms so I can't say how the bathrooms were
>configured. I also suspect that it might take negotiation if some
>participants needed programmatic changes like extended dining room
hours
>or the ability to bring their own food into the dining area, but I'm
not
>sure about this. No TV and no phones in the rooms, but a really
lovely
>location right by the beach (there are boardwalks running along the
>beach that are generally negotiable by someone using a wheelchair or
>small scooter).
